'Wax Portraits' series, 2006
'Wax Portraits' series looks at the female form and challenges the dominated
cultural and social views on this subject matter. The images explore a
character rather than a static representation. Presentation and beauty, in the
form of unadorned portraits, have been physically manipulated by various
treatments; the reversal of images upon one another and the application of
wax. Through playing with light, time and space, and manipulating the
surface, another depth is attained: one that alludes to a more complex
investigation of the subject.
